Privacy Policy
Your information, your choices. Here is how Scopiya uses your data.
Last updated 31 August 2026We use your details to help you find work, hire people and arrange local services. Location detection is optional; you can always choose a city manually.
1. Information you share
Account details include your name and email address, or mobile number when mobile verification is used. Your job profile may include your city, experience, education, skills and résumé. Employers provide company, job and hiring information.
For service requests and provider registrations, we collect the details you submit, such as contact information, service category, address, availability, appointment preferences and a description of the work. We also keep request status, assignment information and submitted feedback.
2. How we use information
We use these details to verify accounts, maintain profiles, process job applications, help employers review candidates, review provider registrations and coordinate service requests. They also help us provide support, investigate misuse and keep the website operating.
Operational messages can include verification codes, service follow-up, assignment confirmations and feedback invitations. Agreeing to our terms does not by itself give permission for unrelated marketing.
3. Location and city selection
You can select a city without sharing your device location. If you choose “Detect my city” and allow your browser's location request, your current coordinates are sent directly from your browser to BigDataCloud to identify your city. That provider also receives network information such as your IP address and processes it under its own privacy policy.
Scopiya remembers your chosen city in a browser cookie for up to one year. This feature does not save your precise coordinates to Scopiya's database. You can change or clear the city in the header, or remove it by clearing browser cookies. Your service address is separate and supplied by you when requesting a service.
6. Security and retention
We use access controls and technical safeguards to protect accounts, uploaded files and service records. No online service can guarantee complete security. Keep sign-in codes private, sign out on shared devices and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.
Account, hiring and service records are retained for operating the relevant features, resolving issues and meeting applicable obligations. Contact us about deletion or retention of your information; some records may need to be retained where required by law or to resolve an outstanding issue.
7. Your choices
You can update the profile details available in your account, change your selected city and refuse device-location permission. You can revoke location permission in your browser settings, clear cookies, or stop using remembered sign-in by logging out.
For help accessing, correcting or deleting personal information, email us using your account email address. We may need to verify your identity before acting. If you receive promotional emails, use the opt-out instructions they provide or contact us; essential account and service communications are separate.
8. Updates to this policy
We may update this page as Scopiya's features or data practices change. The date above identifies the current version. Review this policy together with our Terms and Conditions, and contact us if you need clarification.
9. Privacy questions?
Email contact@scopiya.com with your question and the account email or request reference involved. Please do not send verification codes or payment credentials. You can also visit our Contact page.
